“Once the evening’s entertainment was over the Minotaur, as naked as Nature intended, clumped into Pablo Zapata’s bar…”
A baby with a passion for theoretical physics…
A winged nymph who exacts terrible revenge…
A stolen coin that releases a wish-granting genie…
And where else would you see Ginger Rogers learning the Ali shuffle, or a humble fisherman making friends with Poseidon?
Charlatans and shapeshifters, lovers and leprechauns, ghosts and office creeps are just some of the characters that Kevin Ansbro brings to life in this volume of short stories. His tales span the globe and range from the wickedly funny to the sad and deeply unnerving. With his perceptive take on human failings, his vivid imagination and his glorious grasp of language, Ansbro’s thought-provoking stories will stay with you long after you turn the final page.
Finished this amazing book, and I felt so many different emotions whilst reading it, it's truly an amazing collection of short stories from Sci-Fi to Fantasy to Magical Realism (which I love) to Humor, it has a bit of everything.
Kevin has the gift of writing and what he writes is magic, pure magic, he comes up with stories which are also truly magic, the characters are so diverse it's frightening because you have to love them all, even the evil ones.
I shall not go into every story in detail cos there are other reviews which do and make an excellent job of it.
I would like to finish urging you to read Kevin's works, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
All his books are highly recommended.

More stuff about me (as if anyone cares):
Likes: Art, travel, good manners, independent women, Sunday newspapers and dirty laughs; funk, punk, Bob Marley, Pulp, Foo Fighters, Marmite, winks, pouts, Masterchef Australia and Earl Grey tea.
Dislikes: Strawberries (I'm not alone with this one), drivers who don't indicate, men who devote their weekends to cleaning the family car (what's that all about?) English winters, 1970s-style armpit hair on women, skinflints, insufficiently-chilled white wine, homophobes, misogynists, xenophobes and ignorant jerks in general.
Right, enough about me: my books are way more interesting.
