The Counterfeit Detective is a compelling and mysterious book. The mix of past and present tense in the narrative offered an enlightening experience. While it was initially perplexing, I quickly adapted and became engrossed in the story.
Briefly... When an American professor stumbles upon John Ledbury's diaries, he learns about a series of unsolved murders. Through England, Scotland, and the fabric of time, we travel with him in search of clues to solve the murders.
I was completely drawn into the story by the author's ability to build suspense and excitement. It became perplexing to determine what was real and what was fiction, keeping me in a state of curiosity until the end.
I'm a fan of mysteries, and Simpson has delivered exactly that. Although shocking and grim at times, the subject matter remained compelling. An enjoyable story.
Many thanks to @RymourBooks @KellyALacey @lovebookstours for the opportunity to read it.
