Our House by Louise Candlish

Updated: Mar 14, 2022

What can I say about this amazing book that hasn’t been said before, with over 4,000 reviews on Amazon? Granted, only 50% are 5 * not everyone’s cup of tea and a little long, but for me, it was a great read and I loved it.

Imagine this, you’re separated and a bit early from your weekend break with your not yet boyfriend/fling maybe? Anyway, you’re walking towards your house in a prestigious neighbourhood (houses worth 1 million-plus!) at the distance you see a removal van, you start to think “That’s strange, the only house for sale is a few doors down, and the van is right outside my house”. As you approach “your” front door a woman exits the house and asks you “Can I help you?”, you then say “No, can I help you, this is my house” she responds “I’m sorry you must be mistaken, I’ve just bought this house!!”. What would you do? I presume you would contact your soon-to-be ex-husband, but his number is disconnected, he’s unreachable, what about your two sons, has he abducted them, I’m sure your world has spiralled out of control.

That’s what’s happened to Fi, her world has been turned upside down, what follows is a great story, superbly written with enough twists to grab your attention and when you think the story wraps up nicely, a final twist (which didn’t see it coming) comes crashing down.

Excellent read and another auto-buy author.
