Inheriting Her Ghosts by S.H. Cooper

Many thanks to @The_WriteReads @WriteReadsTours @BBNYA_official for a review copy.

‘The house inherited me as much as I did it. We were alike, this house and I. Both filled with bones that creaked and dark hallways where memories lingered still.’

This is my first from the author, and she's my kind of writer. I need to check her other work.

“Inheriting Her Ghosts” surprised me because I didn't realise it was a gothic horror story. The writing is so fresh and modern that it caught me completely by surprise, it's not a negative, actually, it's a big positive because gothic horror is one of my favourite genres.

Eudora Fellowes lives alone in the big city but she's not lonely she has two wolfhounds, Black Shuck & Cerberus. She is happily living in the city but when she inherits her great-aunt's seaside manor, she decides to move in. She has no idea what secrets are hiding there.

S.H. Cooper has created an amazing, atmosphere creepy story with a strong character, that being Eudore. I've never met a character so strong, so sure of herself, strong-minded & independent woman.

Loved the gothic setting and the world the author has created, would have loved the story to be longer.

What lies behind the locked door?

Highly recommended!!
