The debut novel “Crow Moon” by Suzy Aspley was an incredibly enthralling and fantastic read! A missing local boy’s body is found by Martha, a former investigative journalist, with old poem lines inscribed on his back. The discovery of a second teenager with a new verse reveals that Martha’s teenage son, who was friends with both, may be in danger and keeping secrets.
The author masterfully conveys a strong sense of place and isolation. Despite the presence of civilization nearby, the haunting isolation of the woods and farm adds a gothic touch. When you combine folklore with a group of creepy characters, it creates a captivating and gripping narrative! I was completely hooked and couldn’t stop reading. Without a doubt, it was an engrossing read.
Orenda Books has another fantastic author on their crew and can't wait for further books by Suzy!
Many thanks to OrendaBooks, Suzy Aspley & Random Things Tours for this amazing read!
